About the Author
Sam Gates is an author, cookery teacher, TV guru and mum. She worked as marketing director of the UK's first food channel before starting her own company, working with clients such as BBC Food, BBC Radio and small food producers. Her first family cookbook, Food for your Brood, was published in 2015.
Sam is also a contributor to the Royal Marsden Cancer Cookbook, Liz Earl WellbeingMagazine, and a regular guest on BBC Radio's Cook on the Books. She is a member of The Guild of Food Writers, and runs cooking classes for corporates, schools and charities, teaching toddlers, students, pensioners and the WI how to make sushi.
Sam's second book, The Tin & Traybake Cookbook featuring 100 sweet and savoury recipes, was published by Robinson in 2018.
Juggling family, work, life and cooking was the inspiration behind The Batch Cook Book and its budget friendly, low-waste recipes. Sam has been batch cooking since she was a frugal student, and now as a working mum to a hungry family (and even hungrier rescue dog) it's become a way of life.
