Accents by the Sea is one of the newest shops in Cypress Village, and is located conveniently on the ground level. Founded in 2001, Accents by the Sea was originally located in Gualala’s Cantamare Center. Then as now they focused primarily on the needs of the local community. Barbara Helms, owner, researched the area and purchased items for her shop that she could not find locally in Gualala. The surprisingly well-stocked store features home décor, gourmet kitchen, baby clothes, jewelry, ladies’ hats and purses, personal care products, vintage/jazz music CDs, a large selection of dinner and decorative candles, delightfully unusual holiday decorations, unique candle holders, and much (much) more.

At the request of many customers, Barbara decided to expand her gourmet kitchen section in the weeks prior to her move to Cypress Village. All-Clad cookware has always been featured at Accents by the Sea, and now with a larger store they also carry lines such as Henckels cutlery, Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers and utensils, Staub enameled cast iron cookware, Stonewall Kitchen gourmet jams, mustards and sauces, and Arthur Court tableware. We recently purchased a set of Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers and suddenly I enjoy cooking again.

With the holidays just around the corner, Barbara has added a new shipment of specialty items such as crème brulee, milk frother, and a host of other fun gourmet gadgets. The Christmas tree is up. It’s filled with decorations from Department 56, Fitz & Floyd and various other companies. When it comes to genuinely unique and fun fiberoptic Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations, nobody can top Accents by the Sea.
